Biography Before moving here to study for a degree in Fine Art at Central St Martins, Alvaro Petritoli studied history in Naples. His work reflects a fascination with the strata of history, creating a resonance of time and place in his work. Combining fragments of photo transfers, rust, ink washed away with bleach and hand-drawn text, his images are created from detailed layers, creating a network of recurring elements stimulating the sense memories, evoking scents and sounds and drawing the viewer into their multi -layered complexity.
